Foresters and Deforesters

This was my final project for my introduction to cartography class. It talks about how the lumber industry affects the United States Economy, as well as specifically to each state. The US choropleth shows deforestation and reforestation rates for each state from 1977-2007. I then took the state with the highest reforestation rate, Iowa, and compared it to the state with the highest deforestation rate, Texas.
